Hello, nice to meet you. I’m Amanda, a Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant with an educational background in Early Childhood Education.
I have over 10 years of experience, specializing in infant and toddler care in the classroom and at home. As their nanny, I guide families on a variety of topics, such as sleep, potty training, behavior, and developmental milestones.
I truly believe that rested and happy parents are the magic key to creating the best environment for their little one to thrive in. Life with littles can be stressful, and I often hear parents feeling trapped in a fog, unsure of what to do. But it doesn’t have to be that way. I’m here to help you get the rest both you and your little one deserve so you can get back to thriving!
Let’s connect!
My philosophy
I believe with all my heart that babies, toddlers, and children are whole human beings who deserve to be respected, guided, and loved deeply through every step of their development. My philosophy in child care follows along the lines of some popular educators like Maria Montessori and Reggio Emila, who put children at the center of their learning and growth. I believe that children have the capability to take charge of their learning, with help and guidance from us, the parents and caretakers. With healthy boundaries, rules, and lots of love, children, even infants and toddlers, can tap into their limitless potential.
So, how does that translate into creating healthy sleep patterns?
Through my years of experience, education, and research, I have come to believe that children are extremely flexible and eager to learn. They can overcome any sleep-related changes and setbacks a lot quicker than you might think.
My sleep plans are tailored to you and your child ensuring that your family gets back on track quickly and confidently (and stay on track). Creating healthy boundaries for you and your child will foster a trusting, loving and nurturing environment, one that’s conducive to a good night’s sleep.

How did I get here?
Unlike many Sleep Consultants, my passion didn’t ignite from having my own child. Instead, it was built upon my innate desire to understand children and a passion for their development. I always saw children as whole, capable human beings deserving of respect and care, but it wasn’t until later in my career that I found experience, studies, and research to prove what I thought was true.
As the youngest of three siblings, my nieces and nephew were born before I finished high school, and I became Auntie Amanda, my most cherished name to date. As more of my friends had their children, I took on the role of babysitter and my interest in child development was sparked, an interest that still persists to this day! Thank you, Mackenzie, Lindiwe, and Jordan, for giving me the vibrant career I have today and being an integral part of my life.
I began my official childcare career in 2013, working with infants and toddlers in a daycare setting. A few years in, I found the daycare environment to be frustrating,g and the expectations teachers faced were unmanageable. I took that as a sign to move on and use my experience as a daycare teacher to help families on an individual level, as their nanny. Since 2015, I’ve been working with various families in Canada, and I’ve learned the ins and outs of daily life for many different families. House hold management, childcare, aunt, personal organizer, chauffeur, chef. – I’ve worn many hats and grown very close to the families I’ve worked with.

One aspect of nannying I’ve always loved, besides creating art projects and reading The Going To Bed Book (shout out to Sandra Boynton), is helping kiddos and parents learn about healthy sleep habits, training, and sharing in their success. Every little win from my career as a nanny boils down to this, my decision to cast my net wide and help many other families see the same success and get back to being well-rested, happy, and thriving individuals.
My goal is to help parents see the same success my past families have. In my sleep consults I will educate you on healthy sleep and what children need from their parents in order to reach their full potential. I’ll help you feel confident in your boundaries and decision making, so you can create the ideal environment for you little one to thrive in. I am with you every step of the way, from the start of your sleep journey, well into those dream filled nights ahead.
